Once again Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County will be holding their benefit fundraiser, the Taste of the Peninsula. It will be held on April 16th, 2016 at the Sunland Ballroom in Sequim, Washington.
And Spirit Vision Films will again create a short video for them to be shown that night in honor of Habitat’s 25th year serving the under-housed on the North Olympic Peninsula. Last year’s video was well received (you can see that one in our archives) and it is my desire to help make their video no less effective this year as well.
Habitat came up with the idea to have 25 doors painted by local artists and other folks who wanted to get involved with the project, including very young folks indeed! As it turned out the response was overwhelming and they actually got 33 doors in the hands of folks who then turned them into works of art. These doors will be auctioned off at the Taste of the Peninsula.
Habitat presented the artistic doors to the public at the Sequim Civic Center at the Friday Art Walk, March 4th, at the Rainforest Art Center in Forks, March 9th, and finally in Port Angeles on March 12th, at Studio Bob’s upstairs gallery. The public turned out in force to see these very cool works of art. I managed to make the Sequim and Port Angeles showings and photographed some of the doors to be auctioned off.
Hope to see you at the Taste of the Peninsula on April 16th, 2016. Here are some of the doors that will be auctioned that night:
