on the road – olympic national park

We are currently filming our next episode of the On the Road series, in association with PAPA TV of Port Angeles, Washington. This next film highlights the shoulder or Fall season of the North Olympic Peninsula, specifically the Olympic National Park.

We will be encouraging folks to come to the peninsula during the fall after all the crowds have left for the summer to explore the beauty of the fall season.

Our focus in the park will be Lake Crescent, Storm King, the Lake Crescent Lodge, and Marymere falls. We will then travel to the Sol Duc River valley. There we will stop at the Salmon Cascades to watch the Coho salmon return to spawn, with a bobcat thrown in! We will highlight the beauty of the fall foliage, stop at the Sol Duc Hot Springs resort, and finally end up at the trailhead to the Sol Duc Falls.

Along with Elaine Cochran, Ross Hamilton whose large-format landscape photography has been appreciated on the peninsula for almost 50 years, will give tips and insights to photographers coming to the peninsula.

Here are some frame captures we have already filmed. This episode should be released right after Christmas or New Years. Stay tuned!
